Dear Three Chopt Families,
Welcome to Three Chopt Elementary! It is truly an honor to join this incredible school community as your new principal. From the moment I stepped into the building, it was clear that Three Chopt is a special place—one with a rich tradition of excellence, a strong sense of community, and a deep commitment to helping every child learn, grow, and thrive. I am excited to partner with our students, families, and staff as we continue building on that outstanding foundation.
A little about me—I was born and raised in Henrico County and graduated from Freeman High School before attending Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!). I began my career in education in Fairfax County before returning home to Henrico, where I have spent the past nine years serving as a school administrator, including the last six years as a building principal. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating schools where every child feels seen, valued, challenged, and supported.
This year, our school theme is "WILD About Learning!" At Three Chopt, WILD represents Wonder, Inquiry, Learning, and Depth—four ideas that capture the heart of the learning experiences we want for every student. We want our children to wonder, ask thoughtful questions, explore new ideas with curiosity, and develop a deep understanding of the world around them. Together, we'll cultivate a school environment where students feel inspired to take risks, think critically, and discover the joy of learning each and every day.
I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of a successful school. When students know they belong and families feel connected, amazing things happen. I am committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to reach their full potential through engaging learning experiences, meaningful relationships, and high expectations. #AtTCESWeBelong
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to become part of the Three Chopt family. I look forward to getting to know each of you, celebrating our successes together, and continuing the tradition of excellence that makes Three Chopt such an exceptional place to learn and grow.
Thank you for the warm welcome. Here's to a wonderful year of being WILD About Learning!
Warmly,
Lauren Bischoff
